			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>I&#8217;ve had a lot of people asking me about Shakeology lately, so I thought it would be good to tell what experiences we have had with it. It is not just another meal replacement protein shake or just some supplement, It&#8217;s a Bag of Love!</p>
<p>I have been taking it since the launch that was at the Coaches Summit in March 2009.  For some crazy reason I stopped taking it for about 5 days, who knows, I had the product, I just didn&#8217;t use it for the span of about 5 days.</p>
<p>I was working at my computer and I thought to myself, &#8220;WOW, I am so tired, I  have NO energy.&#8221; Later that day I realized that I hadn&#8217;t had my Shakeology in about 5 days! Duhhhh. That&#8217;s it, that&#8217;s why I was so tired. I made a shaker full of Shakeology, drank it and have had one every day since and haven&#8217;t run into that energy problem again.</p>
<p>Now for my kids, my youngest is really picky about what she drinks, however she loves both flavors and we have fought a bowel problem since she was about 9 months old. The doctors never really pinpointed it, one told us it was where the stomach had too much bad bacteria, they called it this long name, usually caused by a dose or two of antibiotics at a young age, which kills to much of the flora, which can in turn hurt the immune system&#8230;</p>
<p>Before she started on Shakeology, let&#8217;s just say, you almost had to have a gas mask on to go in the bathroom after her. (If she was older she&#8217;d probably kill me for writing this&#8230;hehe). Now that she has been taking Shakeology on a regular basis, her poop is more solid and looks like a normal stool instead of the bottom of a shallow mud puddle that has just been stirred with a stick AND it doesn&#8217;t require the use of a gas mask when entering the bathroom after her!!!</p>
<p>I mean I would rather give her this natural bag of love (Shakeology), than the prescription medication that has to be specially compounded by a &#8220;special&#8221; pharmacy in our area, and even the pharmacist could not believe that the doctors prescribed this medicine for her at such a young age. The doctors told me this medicine isn&#8217;t usually prescribed to children, but in her case, her stomach was in such a mess, she had to take it and we had been through about 4 different rounds of this before Shakeology can along.  I hurts me to see her in so much pain with her tummy. Thanks Beachbody!!!</p>

<p>This has been passed on to me by my fellow <a href="http://www.YourOnlineFitnessCoach.com" target="_blank">Team Beachbody</a> Coaches; Landy and Paula Urquiaga, who I think got it from Puckhead who said Kelly Nelson had the recipe&#8230;You know he said she said, anyway I&#8217;ll get to the bottom of who created this great healthy chocolate pie recipe&#8230;LOL.</p>
<p><strong>SHAKEOLOGY CHOCOLATE PIE.</strong>&#8230;.drumbeat&#8230;. Now <strong>do not PRE-JUDGE by the ingredients</strong>. It is <strong>REALLY</strong> good. My 5 year old daughter LOVES it.</p>
<p>12oz Tofu (I used  the 14 oz pkg)<br />
1- 1/2 scoop <a href="http://teambeachbody.com/shop/-/shopping/MDSUSH311G" target="_blank">Shakeology</a><br />
Natural/Organic Peanut Butter (Could Use Almond Butter)<br />
Soy Milk or Almond Milk<br />
Graham Cracker Pie Crust<br />
Cool Whip Lite</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s how I did it, cause there wasn&#8217;t set in stone instructions.</p>
<p>Put tofu in a bowl large enough you can use a hand mixer. Break the tofu up a bit, add part of the Shakeology mix, blend with mixer then blend in the remaining, if it gets to thick, go ahead and add a little milk. Then add 1 Tablespoon peanut butter, blend more, keep adding enough milk until a pudding like consistency (you don&#8217;t want it too thick, however you don&#8217;t want it runny either). You can add more peanut butter to taste. This is a trial and error phase here, the more you make it the better you will get. Scoop the &#8220;pudding like&#8221; mixture into the pie shell. Spread Cool Whip Lite over the top. Cover and put in fridge for a while.</p>

Somehow, we&#8217;ve turned this into bruschetta, fried calamari and cheese, stuffed mushrooms, and cheese-infested garlic bread. Your first step in Italian eating should be to skip the appetizer, and go for a salad. In case you choose to splurge, use the following nutritional breakdowns—based on average serving sizes in an Italian restaurant—as a guide.</p>

<p>Minestrone tends to be the most popular choice of soups when going Italian. And what a great choice it is! Full of vegetables and broth-based, it is a great way to begin a meal. Many restaurants also include Italian wedding soup, a chicken broth with pork and beef meatballs, which really isn&#8217;t that kind to your waistline. You&#8217;ll also find pasta-infused soups like pasta fagioli (also known as pasta e fagioli), which are not unhealthy, but will add to your meal&#8217;s carb count. Unless your soup is your main course for the evening, stick to the vegetables and save some calories for the main course. The following are nutritional breakdowns based on a 5-oz. serving, but can obviously vary if other ingredients are added.</p>
<ul>
<li>Minestrone soup: 164 calories, 1 gram of fat, 18 grams of carbs, 610 grams of sodium, 5 grams of protein</li>
<li>Italian wedding soup: 130 calories, 7 grams of fat, 12 grams of carbs, 350 grams of sodium, 5 grams of protein</li>
<li>Pasta e fagioli soup: 320 calories, 11 grams of fat, 49 grams of carbs, 1,240 grams of sodium, 15 grams of protein</li>
</ul>
<h3>Salad</h3>

Then, there are Italian &#8220;salads&#8221; like caprese (thick-sliced mozzarella and tomatoes covered in basil and olive oil) and antipasto (a plethora of Italian meats and cheeses) which don&#8217;t skimp on fat content, either. If you do begin with a green salad, ask for the dressing on the side, resist the cheese, and avoid the endless salad bowl. If you choose caprese or antipasto, split an order with everyone at the table.</p>
<ul>
<li>Green salad, 2 Tbsp. dressing: 210 calories, 8 grams of fat, 31 grams of carbs, 784 grams of sodium, no protein</li>
<li>Caprese, 3 slices: 260 calories, 21 grams of fat, 5 grams of carbs, no sodium, 10 grams of protein</li>
<li>Antipasto, 2 oz.: 240 calories, 15.6 grams of fat, 4 grams of carbs, 697 grams of sodium, 20 grams of protein</li>
</ul>
<h3>Main Course</h3>
<p>Like any country, Italy&#8217;s main courses vary pretty dramatically from region to region, but they all use fresh, nutrient-rich ingredients, including heart-healthy olive oil.</p>
<p>Unless you go to a restaurant that specializes in northern Italian cuisine, which favors lean meats and vegetables, most of what we find in the U.S. are assortments of meat, pasta, cheese, sauce, and vegetables. When eaten in appropriate portions, they&#8217;re not so bad for you, but America is the land of the giant plate, so we tend to blow it even with the healthiest of food choices. Remember the palm-of-your-hand trick: any serving of meat or carbs should each be able to fit in the palm of your hand.</p>

If it says cream sauce, alfredo, pesto, or clam sauce, just say no. If it&#8217;s stuffed with anything, keep moving down the menu. And if the name ends with parmesan—which means breaded, fried, and smothered in cheese—save yourself an extra 1,000 calories, and order a grilled chicken breast. Here is a list of popular pasta choices, in 10-oz. servings, in ascending order of fat-gram destructiveness:</p>
<ul>
<li>Spaghetti marinara: 350 calories, 4 grams of fat, 51 grams of carbs, 700 grams of sodium, 9 grams of protein</li>
<li>Cheese-stuffed ravioli: 290 calories, 7 grams of fat, 44 grams of carbs, 280 grams of sodium, 13 grams of protein</li>
<li>Fettuccini alfredo: 780 calories, 18 grams of fat, 125 grams of carbs, 1,600 grams of sodium, 24 grams of protein</li>
<li>Linguini with clam sauce: 760 calories, 32 grams of fat, 106 grams of carbs, 1,600 grams of sodium, 32 grams of protein</li>
<li>Spaghetti with meatballs: 820 calories, 40 grams of fat, 65 grams of carbs, 1,600 grams of sodium, 50 grams of protein</li>
<li>Baked ziti: 701 calories, 41 grams of fat, 43 grams of carbs, 1,221 grams of sodium, 39 grams of protein</li>

<h3>Dessert</h3>

Please note that if you can avoid dessert, or at least share it with someone else, you&#8217;ll save yourself a huge amount of time on the treadmill. Most desserts are fairly heavy on cream, butter, and fat. Also, remember that most Italians indulge in sweets only on very special occasions, and that fresh fruit tends to be the only sweet to close out a meal. Here&#8217;s a list of desserts that actually originate from Italy:</p>
<ul>
<li>Biscotti, 1 serving: 200 calories, 9 grams of fat, 26 grams of carbs, 90 grams of sodium, 4 grams of protein</li>
<li>Cannoli, 1 serving: 374 calories, 17 grams of fat, 44 grams of carbs, 88 grams of sodium, 10 grams of protein</li>
<li>Tiramisu, 3-in. slice: 602 calories, 45 grams of fat, 34 grams of carbs, 91 grams of sodium, 7.8 grams of protein</li>
<li>Tortoni: 472 calories, 29.6 grams of fat, 42 grams of carbs, 77 grams of sodium, 6.7 grams of protein</li>
</ul>
<p>It is surprising for many to learn that obesity in Italy is not a &#8220;huge&#8221; problem. The United States is number one in the world, with a 30-percent obesity rate, while Italy ranks 25th, with less than 7 percent of its population classified as obese. Italy also has the lowest obesity rate in Europe, and is only 2 percent higher away from Japan, the nation with the lowest obesity rate. How can this be the case for a country with such calorically rich cuisine? Many believe that the answer lies in the quality of food, portion size, and the time of day in which the food is consumed. Italians don&#8217;t eat processed food, or things that have been frozen or altered. Most Italians begin each day with coffee and a small bread roll that&#8217;s light as air. This tides them over until lunch—the big meal of the day. Between-meal snacking is reserved for kids. Dinner is usually pretty light. Sweets are saved for special occasions. If we could adopt just a couple of these principles, the U.S. might drop down on the list a little bit. And that would make eating out so much tastier.</p>

David Keenan was interviewed by Matt Lauer from the TODAY show because of his body transformation story using <a href="http://fitnesswithsally.com/beachbody-workout-programs.html" target="_blank">Beachbody Products</a>, Matt interviewed people who had lost half their body weight. Stories success, day by day challenges, weak moments, these people who have been interviewed, made a decision to change!</p>

<p>My older sister told me about this program that helped her and my aunt lose weight, and they enjoyed it. Now, for one, I&#8217;m skeptical by nature. For two, I have tried many programs that range from the cabbage soup diet to the ten-pounds-in-two-days diet and from the ab rolly thingy to the ab springy thingy. Lastly, neither my sister nor aunt was remotely as large as I was. One thing that helped was how enthusiastic she was that it would work for me. She even got our younger sister to join. The next thing I knew she wanted to take before pictures and measurements. &#8220;What if the program doesn&#8217;t work?&#8221; I remember thinking. I did not want measurements written down cause I thought the next time I checked, will probably be bigger anyway. As for the pictures, I would not even take off my shirt because I was too embarrassed of myself. Even in front of my own family.</p>
<p>&#8220;Welcome to <a href="http://teambeachbody.com/shop/-/shopping/Power90?referringRepId=11342" target="_blank">Power 90</a>, I&#8217;m Tony Horton.&#8221; This program changes lives? Will see how day one goes. Right off the bat Tony was moving. I was already behind and struggling to catch up. Tony and the crew lifted their knees, so I lifted mine. I kept up until I had to fight gravity with jumping jacks. Gravity won the battle big time. Something in the program and in my mind kept me going. By the end of the 35 minutes I looked like I stepped out of a pool and panted like a woman giving birth. But for whatever reason, I felt good. Each day I pushed play. People who saw me sporadically said I looked like I lost a bunch of weight. That motivated me more. Before I knew it I was halfway through the program and I lost 40 pounds! Granted I had about 100 pounds of pure krispy kreme to lose, but it felt great! I was swimming in my clothes. I tried to only buy a few shirts because I knew I would be swimming in those too. I got down to 250 in one year, but then I hit a plateau. So I got <a href="http://teambeachbody.com/shop/-/shopping/Slimin6?referringRepId=11342" target="_blank">Slim in 6</a>. Talk about kick-starting your life again. I had a whole new wave of dedication. For one month straight I did Slim in 6 in the mornings and Power 90 at night. Not to mention my diet was close to impeccable. I was hooked. I then got <a href="http://teambeachbody.com/shop/-/shopping/P90X?referringRepId=11342" target="_blank">P90X</a>. Talk about challenging gravity, say hello to Plyometrics. Ab Ripper X, &#8220;I hate it, but I love it.&#8221; This program was the most challenging physical activity I ever even attempted. I got down to 180. Half of me . . . GONE! Luckily, it wasn&#8217;t my good half.</p>
<p><a href="http://teambeachbody.com/shop/-/shopping/Power90?referringRepId=11342"><img style="border: 0pt none; margin: 5px;" src="http://teambeachbody.com/home/-/image_get_file/5230c8b2-94e6-4d15-af5d-91a115134458" border="0" alt="Power 90" hspace="5" vspace="5" width="160" height="160" align="right" /></a>Things change and they did. I had a surgery which put me on a slow recovery phase. I ate badly and with no exercise, I gained some weight. I got up to about 235. I felt horrible. It was just a short time ago that I was feeling better about life than ever. You know, one of those feelings that can only be felt. I let it slip away and I wanted it back. This time I joined the gym to lose it. Don&#8217;t get me wrong, the gym is great, but it wasn&#8217;t for me. I never pushed myself as hard as I did when I pushed play. I jumped back into Power 90 then P90X and I&#8217;m down to under 200! I could not be happier at this time of how I have complete control over my diet and my body.</p>
<p>Coming up on year 5, I have managed to lose a total of 160 pounds and at least 25 percent body fat. More importantly I have kept it off and changed my lifestyle. My eating habits and my exercising routine are all designed to help me be a better and healthier me. I have gained an abundance of knowledge. I have learned the sluggish feeling after eating bad whereas in the past those nachos would have been part of my normal diet. I have learned how important exercise is to my health. My friends and family ask me, former 360 pounder, diet and exercise questions. I have learned that it is not people seeing me in a different light now that I am in great shape, but me seeing myself in a better light.</p>
<p>To struggle with a battle your whole life and come out victorious is the greatest feeling anyone could ever experience. I won. Losing weight has obviously benefited my life physically more than I could have ever imagined. Friends from high school don&#8217;t even recognize me. I now enjoy physical activities such as hiking, basketball, and even pull-ups (except corn-cobs). While going to work, I leave the train station and get pleasure from being the only one to take the stairs. I love my body, but my most valued changes through this are internal. I am making better decisions with my life then I ever did. I have more drive, determination, confidence, enthusiasm, success, and the list goes on, than ever before. There is nothing I cannot do and no one could convince me otherwise. I owe it all to Tony Horton, Debbie Siebers, the entire Beachbody staff, the <a href="beachbodycoach.com/coachsally" target="_blank">Team Beachbody</a> community, and my family and friends. Thank you all for making me live and love life.</p>
<p>This is just another amazing story of how one more person has made the decision to get more healthy and fit. It gives me the warm fuzzies inside to feel the emotions of his story while I am listening to it. You can really imagine how each of the people on the Today show felt and how it must have felt to be ashamed to go out in public. To have no confidence. Then to see how they decided to take control (because we all do have control of our lives, if we&#8217;d take the wheel) and make a change for themselves!!! AWESOME!!!!!</p>
